The Bella Terra StorySouthwest of Kalamazoo, MI, we (Todd and Kim Shook) founded Bella Terra in 2000 after our own personal, life changing experiences participating in the Equine Experience created by Wyatt Webb at Miraval Resort and Spa in Tucson, Arizona. The impact of this experience fueled our passion to start our equine assisted learning program; the first equine experiential program in the US exclusively with miniature horses.
We integrated our professional experiences in executive management, human services, and personal growth, to develop our learning program with horses. Although our program previously included corporate training, leadership development, and youth programs, our herd is aging so today our programs target mindfulness programs. Since 2007, we've trained people around the world how to facilitate powerful learning experiences with horses. We're founding members, board members, and were Master Trainers and original curriculum authors for the Equine Experiential Education Association (E3A). Now we offer a new and greatly improved curriculum through EAL Academy, including a 4-day in-person accelerated Equine Assisted Learning facilitation certification training and a 1-day facilitating mindfulness and mindful leadership programs, including meditations with horses. |
